Gul: Red Crescent Will Undertake More Responsibilities Due To Possible Developments In Middle East

ANKARA - Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Saturday that Red Crescent would undertake more responsibilities due to possible developments that might occur in the Middle East.
Gul received a delegation of Red Crescent headed by Chairman Ertan Gonen, said that they had to complete their preparations in that sense.
Following the meeting, Gonen, responding to a question whether or not number of tents and equipment to be dispatched to region in case of a possible operation against Iraq was definite, said, ''we did not mention number of camps because they don't belong to us. But, I told our prime minister that Turkey will serve the best in case of such an operation.''
Asked how much ready they were for a refugee inflow from Iraq, Gonen said that they were ready for everything and that he would be in the region 4-5 hours later in the event of an immigration.
Responding to a question if they were extended the support they wanted from foreign world, Gonen said that they held a meeting with the United Nations (U.N.).
Gonen noted that technical personnel of Red Crescent and the U.N. would work together and added that they would calculate cost of loss together with the U.N.
