ANKARA - Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Jalal Talabani said on Wednesday that foreign forces which would come to the region during a possible operation on Iraq should not stay in the country for a long time.
Talabani held a joint press conference with Iraqi Turkmen Front leader Sanan Ahmet Aga following their meeting.
When he was reminded about the news that foreign forces would stay in the region for five years, Talabani hoped that foreign forces which would come to Iraq would depart from the region a short time after formation of the new government.
Talabani said that they were against staying of foreign forces in the region that much and added that foreign forces should leave the region after collapse of the regime and formation of a coalition government.
