Aydin Menderes Resigns From D.Y.P.

ANKARA - Former Istanbul deputy Aydin Menderes resigned from the True Path Party (DYP) on Sunday.
Holding a press conference, Menderes said that it was not possible for him to work together with DYP leader Mehmet Agar whose trial was not completed yet and noted that there were seven dossiers about Agar and those dossiers included significant claims against him.
Menderes said, ''Agar's political immunity is an obstacle in front of judiciary. In my opinion, trial process about Agar should be completed to have an opinion about him. It is not possible to work together with Agar as it may yield political results. To this end, I resigned from DYP. I do not leave politics, but it is not possible for me to join or support a political party in near future.''
