GAZIANTEP - Exports of dried fruits from Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region in the first 11 months of 2002 increased 21.5 percent to 60 million 275 thousand U.S. dollars.
In the same period last year, the region exported 49 million 616 thousand U.S. dollars of dried fruits.
Gaziantep-based Southeast Anatolian Exporters' Association said on Sunday that they exported 7 million 630 thousand U.S. dollars in pistachios, 47 million 46 thousand U.S. dollars in dried apricots and 5 million 599 thousand U.S. dollars in various other products.
Most of the products were exported to France, Britain, the United States, Australia, Germany, Israel, Canada, Italy, Lebanon, India, Hong-Kong, Poland and Spain.
