ANKARA - The Customs Undersecretary stated on Sunday that Turkey exported 3 billion 264 million U.S. dollars of goods, and imported 4 billion 197 million U.S. dollars of goods in November of 2002.
Exports increased by 14.5 percent, and imports rose by 27.9 percent compared to the figures of the same period last year.
In November of 2001, Turkey exported 2 billion 851 million U.S. dollars of goods, and imported 3 billion 280 million U.S. dollars of goods.
According to the figures, foreign trade deficit increased from 430 million U.S. dollars in November of 2001 to 933 million U.S. dollars in November of 2002.
The rate of exports meeting imports decreased from 86.90 percent to 77.77 percent.
Meanwhile, exports increased 10.39 percent to 31 billion 823 million U.S. dollars, and imports rose 11.96 percent to 41 billion 843 million U.S. dollars in the January-November period of 2002.
In the same period last year, Turkey exported 28 billion 829 million U.S. dollars of goods, and imported 37 billion 374 million U.S. dollars.
