COPENHAGEN - European Union (EU) Commissioner Guenter Verheugen for enlargement said early on Saturday that Turkey should be proud of the result of Copenhagen summit.
Responding questions of the A.A correspondent, Verheugen said that Turkey had gotten a certain result about opening of accession talks with the EU.
Noting that Turkey had been treated in a better way than other candidate countries, Verheugen said that Turkey had come to a conclusion about opening of accession talks before fully fulfilling Copenhagen criteria.
Verheugen added that the EU might enlarge itself in coming year by including other Balkan countries and even countries such as Iceland and Switzerland.
