ANKARA - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener said on Friday that negotiations and discussions continued in Copenhagen.
Responding to questions of reporters, Sener said that contacts of Prime Minister Abdullah Gul and Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip erdogan continued in Copenhagen.
Sener noted, ''it is not possible to see what will happen till the last moment. Although some draft resolutions are brought forth in some television channels at the moment, evaluations, statements and predictions made till the last moment may not conform to each other.''
''Change in words and sentences in drafts which may not be considered as important can cause big changes in the meaning. We will follow the developments altogether. We know that our face is turned towards the west whatever the decision is,'' Sener said.
Noting that Copenhagen criteria would be fulfilled because they were the demands of Turkish people not the EU, Sener said that issues related with fundamental rights and liberties were the demands of Turkish people.
Sener added, ''they concern future of this country.''
