GENEVA - Football Federation Chairman Haluk Ulusoy said on Wednesday that Greece and Turkey, joint candidates for hosting 2008 European Football Championship, acted as a single federation until now.
Ulusoy said that he is hopeful prior to the voting in which the Union of European Football Associations Championship (UEFA) Executive Board will select the country that will host Euro-2008 in Geneva, Switzerland on Thursday.
Noting that Greece has struggled both as a national team and as a club in UEFA Cup and European Championship League, Ulusoy said that Turkey also made important lobbying activities for candidacy and held symposiums, seminars and organizations, adding that UEFA has good impressions about Turkey.
Meanwhile, Greek Football Federation Chairman Vasilis Gagatsis who met with Haluk Ulusoy in Geneva said that two federations worked very well and added ''I believe that we will take 2008.''
