Erdogan To Visit New York After Washington D.C.

NEW YORK - AK Party leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan will go to New York on Dec. 10, Tuesday evening after meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush in Washington D.C. and meet with the Turkish society there.
Foreign Minister Yasar Yakýs will also go to New York with Erdogan.
Egemen Bagýs, AK Party deputy and foreign policy consultant of Erdogan, who attended the ceremony held in Turkish House in New York upon Ramadan holiday, explained the efforts of the new government to make Turkey join the EU and gave information about the difficulties faced.
Bagýs said that ''first of all we try to overcome the difficulty of mentality,'' Bagýs said adding that all views except the view that 'we don't want Turkey in EU,'' will be satisfying at Copenhagen summit.
Stressing that he considers himself as the representative of all Turks living in New York, the U.S. and abroad, Bagýs promised to work in the parliament for solving the problems of Turkish people living abroad.
