American Writer Chomsky Due In Diyarbakir

DIYARBAKIR - American writer and linguist Noam Chomsky will attend ''Peace and Democracy Symposium'' and Book Fair activities in Istanbul and a panel titled ''Socializing and Laws'' in southeast Diyarbakir province.
Human Rights Association district director Selahattin Demirtas told A.A. correspondent on Monday that Chomsky had attended the panel titled ''Socializing and Laws'' which was held by Diyarbakir Democracy Platform last year.
Demirtas said that Chomsky will attend a panel titled ''Iraq War and New World Order'' in Diyarbakir Greater City Municipality Mehmet Akif Ersoy Theater Hall on December 16. He added that many writers, artists and jurists will also participate in activities.
Chomsky who will participate in Istanbul Book Fair activities and ''Peace and Democracy Symposium'' held by the Confederation of Public Workers Trade Unions (KESK) will be awarded with International Peace Award by Publishers Union.
