''PRAYING AT HILTON HOTEL WAS NOT NICE AT ALL''
Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said, ''those photographs showing deputies as praying in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel, should have never been taken. I warned our deputies the next day. It is totally wrongful to turn worshiping into a show.''

DENKTAS: ''WE ARE WORKING ON THE PLAN''
President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said, ''we asked United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan to give us some additional time. We should assess the solution plan of the United Nations about Cyprus in detail.''

FIRST DEPPLER, THEN IMF DELEGATION DUE IN TURKEY
International Monetary Fund (IMF) European I Department Director Michael Deppler and IMF Turkey Desk Chief Juha Kahkonen will hold a series of contacts in Ankara between December 2 and 3, 2002. Meanwhile, IMF delegation will start holding contacts in Turkey for the fourth review as of December 9.

BAYKAL REACTS TO ERDOGAN
Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal reacted to Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan who said, ''we do not plan to bring the issue of political immunity onto parliamentary agenda in our first year.'' Baykal said, ''Erdogan has given a promise to the people to lift the political immunity. Now, he should keep his promise.''

YES OR NO
Sir David Hannay, the special envoy of Britain to Cyprus, is known as one of the persons behind the solution plan of the United Nations. In an interview with a Greek newspaper, Hannay said that the sides in the island had held enough negotiations. He said that the sides should say a certain yes or no without losing time.

''I WILL NOT BE A PARTNER OF MISTAKES''
Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said, ''if I had been a partner of mistakes of Necmettin Erbakan and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, I would have been elected as leader for 50 times.'' Referring to the issue of Islamic-style headscarf, Arinc said, ''I have to abide by protocol rules. I will fulfill my duty. There are three sensitive days: April 23, May 19 and October 29. We will act with sensitivity in these days.''

''WHAT IS THIS CONSTITUTION?''
Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal said, ''a new constitution was not mentioned neither in election campaign of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) nor in its urgent action plan. It was brought onto agenda with the government programme.'' Baykal also reacted to the AK Party's delaying annulment of political immunity. He stressed, ''the AK Party became unfirm before getting the vote of confidence.''

ISLAMIC-STYLE HEADSCARF HIGH ON AGENDA AGAIN
The General Staff is expected to present a report at the monthly meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) on November 29 saying that the fundamentalism has still been the primary threat in Turkey. Land Forces Commander General Aytac Yalman will explain concerns of the Turkish Armed Forces about politicians' wives wearing Islamic-style headscarf. Meanwhile, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan is uneasy about the argument about Islamic-style headscarf. He said, ''the issue will slow down our works.''

ISLAMIC-STYLE HEADSCARF ENTERS PRIME MINISTRY OFFICE
Prime Minister Abdullah Gul's secretary Ayse Yilmaz who has been wearing Islamic-style headscarf, has begun her duty at the Prime Ministry Office. Meanwhile, visitors of the Prime Ministry has changed following the general elections. Number of visitors wearing Islamic-style headscarf, black cloak and other religious clothings has increased sharply.

SECRET AGENDA OF AK PARTY
Many circles are concerned about obscure expressions in the government programme about a new constitution. Prime Minister Abdullah Gul describes the new constitution as liberalist, short, clear and intelligible. The comprehensive constitutional amendment is expected to be brought onto agenda after the first arrangement which is allegedly prepared to adjust Turkey with the European Union (EU).

DENKTAS SEEMS TO BE CONVINCED
Foreign Ministry expects Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) leader Rauf Denktas to announce that he will negotiate Annan Plan. Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis who arrived in New York in the weekend seemed to convince Denktas. Denktas is expected to convey that he accepted to negotiate Annan Plan on Wednesday. Yakis said ''Then, the process in the plan continues. We found the sensitivity of TRNC right.''

TURKISH DAY IN BRUSSELS
Turkey Platform and European non-governmental organizations will demand a date in Brussels on Wednesday. Turkey Platform will convene in Brussels with the attendance of the non-governmental organizations of European Union (EU) countries. The union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu and Economic Development Foundation (IKV) Chairman Meral Gezgin Eris will deliver speeches in the opening. CNN Turk Station will broadcast the meeting live.

HARD-WORKING CIVIL SERVANTS TO BE AWARDED
The 58th government has begun to implement a salary system in the public sector which is based on success and performance of civil servants. The government aims at putting into practice the salary system in order to increase performance of the civil servants. According to the new system, successful civil servants will be awarded with additional premiums.

BARROSO PROMISES ERDOGAN
Erdogan met with Prime Minister Jose Manuel Durao Barroso of Portugal. He told reporters following the meeting, ''a decision to be taken by the European Union (EU) at its Copenhagen Summit on December 12 to set a date for opening of accession talks with Turkey, will remove the uncertainties in our relations with the EU.'' Meanwhile, Prime Minister Barroso of Portugal promised Erdogan to support Turkey being given a date at Copenhagen Summit for opening of accession talks.

BAYKAL SAYS ''GOVERNMENT BREAKS THE SPELL WITH OPPOSITE STEPS''
The Parliament will discuss the government program which was announced by Prime Minister Abdullah Gul on Saturday. The attention will be focused on opposition leader Deniz Baykal who gave gentle messages after the elections. Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal reacted to the initiative of the government for preparing a new Constitution without having vote of confidence and said that they are breaking the spell. Baykal said that if they would like to amend the Constitution, why did not they tell it before the elections and he added that they should tell it openly which articles of the Constitution they would like to amend.

DENKTAS IS NOT NEGATIVE TO NEGOTIATION
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) leader Rauf Denktas said that they can negotiate the Cyprus Plan, but acceptance and 'correction of mistakes' are different. He recalled that he stated earlier that the plan cannot be a base for negotiations and added that of course, people will discuss with each other to correct the plan.
