Parliament To Debate Program Of Government On Tuesday

ANKARA - Parliamentary General Assembly will debate program of the new government on Tuesday.
The Parliamentary General Assembly will convene at 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday to debate the program of the government read out by Prime Minister Abdullah Gul on Saturday.
After the speeches of Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deiz Baykal and a deputy of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener will respond to criticisms on behalf of the government.
Voting of confidence will be held on Thursday. Votes of 276 deputies will be required to get the vote of confidence. This number is equal to the absolute majority of total deputies in the parliament.
CHP will not give vote of confidence to the program of the government formed by AK Party having 363 deputies at the parliament. However, there will not be any problems with the vote of confidence since the number of seats occupied by the AK Party is more than the required number.
