Re-trial On Agenda Of Government

ANKARA - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ertugrul Yalcýnbayýr said on Saturday that the government will propose a change in Article 327 of Civil Code of Procedure to implement decisions of European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) which foresees retrial of any suspect in Turkey.
Responding to questions of journalists on the issue, Yalcýnbayýr said that the re-trial decisions of ECHR can't be implemented in Turkey now.
''Will former DEP deputy Leyla Zana also benefit from the amendment to be done?'' asked journalists to Yalcýnbayýr who said that ''it is not correct to take up the issue only in respect of Zana case. The thing that matters is to guarantee the right to fair trial.'' Recalling that there are 300 similar cases due to the decisions of ECHR, Yalcýnbayir said that everybody who is in the same position will benefit from the amendment.
Justice Minister Cemil Cicek said in his part that they will make amendments in Political Parties Act in line with the amendments made in the Constitution.
