IZMIR - A group of students and teachers from Agria Technical School in Volos city of Greece came to western Izmir province on Saturday as the guest of Mersinli Technical High School.
The headmaster of the highschool Rýza Akcay told A.A that they went to Greece last year with a group of students and teachers upon Agria Technical School's invitation with the slogan of ''Young Persons Should Live Friendly.''
Akcay said that they were hosted very friendly in Greece, adding that the prejudices between the two peoples will be removed by such visits.
''When we went to Greece last year we were covered by media everywhere and our visit to Greece was presented as an important event in newspapers and TVs there. We invited the same Greek school to Turkey this year. They will stay for six days in Izmir and we will visit the historical and touristic places of Izmir together,'' Akcay said.
Baibas Georgios, the Director of Magnesia Region's Technical Schools said that the aim of the visit is to exchange the educational experience of Turkish-Greek teachers and students, their education system and to make cooperation for friendship between the two countries.
There are 23 students, nine directors and teachers in the Greek guest team.
