ANKARA - Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said, ''if we say that we should be a full member of the European Union (EU), we will remove the deficiencies soon.''
Attending a programme on Kanal 7 tv channel, Gul responded to the reporters' questions on Friday.
When asked how he defined his party, Gul said that they were representing the common values of Anatolia and added that they resembled the first years of Motherland Party (ANAP), Democrat Party and Justice Party.
Gul said that the laws would be implemented and the deficiencies would be removed. Gul said, ''Turkey is a democratic country. When we compare Turkey with the EU countries, we see that the country has many shortcoming. It is a problem. Our duty is to remove all those problems.''
When asked whether the list of the Cabinet was changed at the Presidential Palace, Gul said that no name was removed from the list and no name was added to it.
Upon another question, he said that the atmosphere was very positive after the elections and added that some people had concerns before the elections.
When asked which countries he would visit firstly, Gul said that he was invited to many countries including the United States, France and Arab countries and added that he would pay visits to the countries according to a programme which would be prepared with Foreign Ministry.
