First Hearing Of Lawsuit Filed By Kivrikoglu Against Rsf To Be Held On December 11

PARIS - The first hearing of the lawsuit that was filed by former General Staff Chief Huseyin Kivrikoglu against Reporters Without Borders (RFS), will be held on December 11, 2002.
The court decided on Thursday to heard the first hearing on December 11 after the sides presented their files.
Arman Boukris, the lawyer of Kivrikoglu, said that Kivrikoglu had filed a lawsuit against RSF Chairman Robert Menard on charges of insulting his individual rights by hanging his photograph in a public place without his permission, and asked a compensation of 100 thousand euros.
Meanwhile, RSF's lawyer Jean Martin requested the case to be heard within the framework of violation of press freedom.
RSF used photograph of Kivrikoglu in its exhibition it opened in a train station in June to display leaders of countries in which human rights were violated. The exhibition led to a diplomatic crisis between Turkey and France, and Saint Lazare Train Station Enterprise decided to put an end to the exhibition due to security of its passengers.
