ANKARA - State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ertugrul Yalcinbayir said on Thursday that prevention of torture and mal-treatment take place among their priorities.
Noting that force and violence should not be used in any field of life, Yalcinbayir said that prevention of torture and bad treatment are the most important problems of Turkey and Turkey needs peace.
Yalcinbayir said that legislation, execution and jurisdiction processes should be in harmony about torture issue, adding that the role of non-governmental organizations is also important.
Noting that he is in charge of Secretariat General for the European Union (EU), human rights and Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), Yalcinbayir said that they immediately started to work for the Copenhagen Summit.
