Turkey Leg Of Formula-1 2005 Races To Be Held In Istanbul

ISTANBUL - Formula One Administration (FAO) chief executive Bernie Ecclestone chose Istanbul for Turkey leg of Formula-1 2005 races.
The Federation of Turkish Automobile and Motorsports (TOMSFED) stated on Wednesday that Ecclestone conveyed his decision to the federation and he said that although Antalya and Izmir are attractive cities, he chose Istanbul as it is known all around the world and it can respond to logistic needs of teams.
TOMSFED stated that architecture Herman Tilke will arrive in Istanbul for technical pre-studies and start working together with Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Chairman Mehmet Yildirim for the technical studies in the area in Kurtkoy Tepeoren.
Meanwhile, Ecclestone will arrive in Turkey to sign Formula-1 contract and to hold a press conference.
Federation stated that the organization which will provide a great opportunity to Turkey will also contribute to Turkish tourism and sports.
