Bush Calls Gul

ANKARA - U.S. President George W. Bush called Prime Minister Abdullah Gul on Tuesday, congratulated him for his new post and wished him success.
Prime Ministry issued a written statement on the issue and said that ''Prime Minister Gul had a telephone conversation with U.S. President.''
Bush said in the phone talk to Gul that the U.S. attributes special importance to relations with the Turkish Republic, adding that ''we will develop our relations within the scope of interests of both countries. I will like to invite you to the U.S. in 2003.''
Prime Minister Gul said in his part that he was very pleased with Bush's invitation and he also congratulated Bush for the success of his party in the elections. Gul added that he hoped the bilateral relations between the two countries to further deepen and improve.
