ANKARA - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy Abdullah Gul, who was designated to form the government, will be received by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer at 3.30 p.m. on Monday.
Gul is expected to present the list of Council of Ministers to President Sezer.
VECDI GONUL SAYS HE WILL NOT BECOME CANDIDATE FOR POSITION OF PARLIAMENT SPEAKER
Vecdi Gonul, a deputy of the AK Party from Kocaeli, said on Monday that he would not become a candidate for position of parliament speaker.
Responding the questions in Athens, Gonul noted, ''I will not become a candidate for position of parliament speaker.''
CHP TO NAME ELEKDAG AS CANDIDATE FOR POSITION OF PARLIAMENT SPEAKER
Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal announced on Monday that they would name Istanbul deputy Sukru Elekdag as candidate for position of parliament speaker.
Responding to questions of reporters, Baykal said that they would nominate Elekdag, who was the temporary parliament speaker, for this position.
