NEW YORK - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas was readmitted to the Columbia Presbytarian hospital in New York, the United States over the weekend with a fever.
TRNC Presidency Under Secretary Ergun Olgun told the A.A correspondent late on Saturday that Denktas was readmitted to Columbia Presbytarian hospital where he had heart operation, with a fever at Friday night.
Sources close to Denktas said that he was hospitalized in order not to take any risk and return to the same hospital was a precautionary measure.
Olgun said that Denktas could stay in hospital until Monday and date of his departure from New York would become clear after check-up on Monday.
Olgun said that Denktas was stable and taking regular exercise, adding that Denktas preferred hospital to hotel as he felt more comfortable and rested easy.
