ROME - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Rome on Wednesday to hold contacts regarded with Turkey's full membership to the European Union (EU).
Erdogan arrived in Rome at 13.20 lcoal time.
Deputy Chairman Yasar Yakis, his adviser Omer Celik, Istanbul Parliamentarians Egemen Bagis, Zeynep Karahan Uslu, and Central Executive Board member Cuneyd Zapsu accompany Erdogan during the visit.
Representatives of NGOs also take part in the visit of Erdogan to Italy.
Erdogan is expected to meet Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi at lunch. The two leaders are expected to hold a news conference afterwards.
Erdogan will also meet representatives of Turkish community in Italy.
