U.S. Officials Confirm Iraq Tries To Buy Antidote Against Nerve Gas

WASHINGTON - U.S. officials said that Iraq had suspiciously ordered 1 million 250 thousand doses of atropine that can be used as an antidote against nerve gas, from Turkish companies and that Washington was investigating the issue together with Turkey.
U.S. official said that it had caused suspicion that Iraq tried to buy such an amount of atropine, adding that they were investigating the issue together with the Turkish government.
Meanwhile, a Turkish official in Washington said that the Turkish Embassy in Washington had not received such a request from the U.S. administration but Turkey had conveyed necessary information in the past after similar requests of Washington.
