ISTANBUL - Borusan Holding purchased on Tuesday 35 percent share of Spanish Steel Service Centers Group Bamesa Aceros which services to important automobile trademarks of the world such as Mercedes, Renault, Peugeot, Ford and Nissan.
Borusan Holding Executive Board Chairman Ahmet Kocabiyik said that the holding purchased Vobarno factory in Italy in 2001 and launched a significant initiative in its increasing market share in Europe to ten percent. He added that they strengthened their international role in European steel market by Bamesa partnership.
Kocabiyik said that Borusan will gain the chance of presenting products with high added value by addressing automobile factories abroad directly by Bamesa investment.
Borusan Holding Director General Agah Ugur said that their target for 2007 is an endorsement worth of two billion dollars and added that they aim to gain an important part of this endorsement from foreign investments. He said that Bamese investment is a significant step to reach this target.
Spanish Bamesa Aceros has an annual steel transaction volume worth of 1.5 million tones and endorsement worth of 500 million dollars and it has a total of nine facilities in Turkey, Spain, Portugal and Mexico.
