BURSA - Fresh fruit and vegetable exports from Bursa province increased by 19.1 percent in the first ten months of this year.
According to figures of Uludag Exporters Association, Bursa raised an income of 7 million 162 thousand U.S. dollars from its exports in October 2002 with an increase of 11.9 percent when compared with October of 2001. Bursa had obtained 6 million 396 thousand U.S. dollars from its exports in October 2001.
In January-October 2002 period, the exports from Bursa increased by 19.1 percent to 70 million 45 thousand U.S. dollars. This figure was 58 million 769 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period of the previous year.
Germany, the Netherlands, Britain, Austria, Belgium, Greece, France, Italy, Switzerland and Sweden became the main export centers of Bursa.
Bursa exported to Libya, Singapore, Serbia, Iran, Belarus, Spain, Bahrain and Mersin Free Zone for the first time in this period.
