ANKARA - Higher Election Board (YSK) decided unanimously on Wednesday that it was impossible to examine the application of True Path Party (DYP) asking the board to consider invalid the votes Democratic People's Party (DEHAP) got in the general elections.
YSK Deputy Chairman Ahmet Hamdi Unlu told reporters that 23 political parties that could join the elections were determined according to information taken from the Supreme Court Chief Prosecutor's Office and the parliament after the parliament took a decision to hold early elections.
Unlu said that the relevant decision was issued in the Official Gazette on August 5, 2002.
Then the election process started and the YSK returned the application of the Supreme Court Chief Prosecutor's Office that DEHAP was not organized well, Unlu noted.
Unlu stated that DEHAP then joined the elections and to this end, YSK decided that it was impossible to examine DYP's decision about votes DEHAP got in the electinos.
Upon a question, Unlu said that YSK could announce the names of the deputies till Friday.
