ANKARA - Felicity Party (SP) leader Recai Kutan said on Wednesday regarding the calls on him to resign from leadership that ''the authorized party councils will decide on this issue.''
Speaking in a news conference, Kutan assessed the results of the Nov. 3 elections.
Kutan said that his party will continue to be an opposition party although it is not represented in the parliament.
Kutan said that he will have a meeting with members of the party on November 10 and that they would assess the election results.
When a journalist recalled that SP deputy leaders Mehmet Bekaroglu and Numan Kurtulmus resigned from their posts and they also called him to resign, Kutan said that ''we are different from other political parties. Such decisions will not be given by the party leader, but by the authorized party organs.''
