U.S. Congratulates A.K.P.

WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. State Department Spokesman Richard Boucher congratulated on Monday Justice and Development Party (AK Party) which won the elections in Turkey.
Speaking in a news conference, Boucher also congratulated the Turkish people who showed the dynamism of democracy. The U.S. expects the foundation of the new government and it wants to work closely with this government, Boucher said.
The spokesman added that the U.S. expected the new government to continue launching efforts regarding EU process, political and economic reforms and reaching a solution about Cyprus issue.
