NEVSEHIR - Twenty-four Korean War veteran Americans, who came to Turkey to see Turkish Korean War veterans, visited on Thursday historical and touristic places in Cappadocia.
William Edward Alli, the General Coordinator of American and Turkish War Veterans Association based in the United States, told reporters that they battled together with Turkish soldiers in Korea between 1951 and 1952.
Alli said that they came to Turkey to see their friends 50 years later.
His friend was a Turk, Alli noted and added that they wanted to contribute to further improvement of friendship between Turkey and the United States.
The Americans, who visited Goreme Open Air Museum and Avanos pottery shops, will depart from the region on Friday.
