Constitutional Court To Make Pre-examination On A.K. Party Closure Case On Friday

ANKARA - The Constitutional Court will make its pre-examination about the closure case of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) on Friday.
The Constitutional Court delegation will convene at 10.00 a.m. and debate the lawsuit filed by Supreme Court Chief Prosecutor Sabih Kanadoglu requesting closure of AK Party.
Constitutional Court will also debate the request for a precautionary measure to be imposed on duties and authorities of AK Party leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
If the Constitutional Court does not see any deficiency in the indictment at the end of its pre-examination, it will prepare a minute about the following stage of the case and notify the indictment to the AK Party for preparation of its written pre-defense.
Supreme Court Chief Prosecutor Sabih Kanadoglu had claimed that AK Party did not fulfill the legal requirements of the warning made by the Constitutional Court.
Kanadoglu had said that Erdogan ''cheated against the laws'' by not leaving the leadership although he quitted foundership membership and claimed that Erdogan could not be a member of any party due to its existing record of conviction.
Asking the party to be closed under the second paragraph of the article 104 of Political Parties Law, Kanadoglu had also requested that precautionary measure should be put on duties and authorities of Erdogan.
