GERMAN AMBASSADOR:''PLEASE WITHDRAW INDICTMENT ABOUT GERMAN FOUNDATIONS''
Accusing of the German foundations of espionage by former State Security Court (DGM) Prosecutor Nuh Mete Yuksel, has caused tension between Turkey and Germany. Following the verbal protest by Germany due to the indictment prepared by Yuksel about German foundations, German Ambassador to Turkey Schmidt also reacted to the indictment. Schmidt said that the indictment has to be withdrawn and DGM has to end the case. He said that this crisis will negatively affect the image of Turkey in the German public opinion and it can also affect the EU process of Turkey.

CHURCHES NEEDED IN TOURISTIC PLACES
''Belief Tourism Days'' which is organized by Religious Affairs and Turkish Travel Agencies to promote belief tourism and the cultural richness of Turkey, started in Kusadasý town of western Izmir province. Turkey's Armenians Patriarch Mesrob Mutafyan told Religious Affairs Head Mehmet Nuri Yýlmaz that ''churches are needed in touristic places like Kusadasý. Mr. Yýlmaz went to mosque and prayed there during the meeting. But where can we go and do that? The nearest church is Virgin Mary's House. Should we climb the mountain and pray there? Churches can be built in tourism places by the municipality, not by the religious communities.'' Mehmet Nuri Yýlmaz said Mutafyan was right and he promised to bring onto agenda his demand.

THE SAME MOVIE AGAIN!
The movie ''Crimes Against Humanity'' which also talks about the so-called Armenian genocide will be shown in the genocide exhibition, which will be held in Britain in December. The inclusion of the so-called Armenian claims in the movie has been assessed as a sign of crisis between Britain and Turkey. The British sunday newspaper The Observer said that the Turkish diplomats thought of officially protesting the movie.

SEZER AT EU SUMMIT
Turkey will voice at the highest level its expectation of getting a negotiation date from the EU during the mini summit for EU candidate countries which will be held upon the initiative of EU Term President Denmark today. President Ahmet Necdet Sezer who will represent Turkey in the summit, will give the message that ''the reforms undertaken by Turkey are enough for it to start full membership negotiations in 2003. Sezer is accompanied by Foreign Minister Sukru Sina Gurel and Secretary General for EU Affairs Volkan Vural in Copenhagen.

THEY RUN TO EUROPE
The 15-kilometer race was run within the scope of the 24th Intercontinental Eurasia Marathon Race in Istanbul on Sunday, which was organized by Istanbul Municipality. Eric Kiplageti of Britain won the race in men's while Cathy Mutwa of Britain came on the first in women's. Citizens also ran in the race for fun. However the race negatively affected the traffic in Istanbul.

AKP PREPARES FINANCIAL AMNESTY
AK Party prepared an amnesty draft worth of 11 billion dollars. AK Party deputy leader Bulent Gedikli said that 130,000 files related to tax disputes will be ended by decreasing taxes and interests. Gedikli said that they will put into force the ''tax peace project'' when they come to power.

SEZER'S INSISTENCE ON EU DATE
EU Term President Denmark will discuss the results of the Brussels summit with leaders of 13 EU candidate countries in a meeting to be held in Copenhagen today. President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Foreign Minister Sukru Sina Gurel represent Turkey in the summit, which is important prior to the EU Summit to be held in Copenhagen in December. President Sezer said that the Turkey paragraph on Brussels summit is not satisfactory, adding that he will voice the rightful expectation of Turkey to start accession negotiations with EU in 2003, during the meeting.

GUREL:U.S. HAS TO FULFILL ITS PROMISE
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sukru Sina Gurel said that the U.S. gives assurance to Turkey regarding Iraq on the one hand, and it encourages Kurdish groups on the other hand. ''It should be known that Turkey will do what is necessary for its interests, nobody can prevent it to act in line with its national interests,'' Gurel said and added that Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) understood the warnings of Turkey.

YSK BAN CONFUSES MIND
The election prohibitions adopted by the Higher Election Board (YSK) made impossible newspapers' giving information about elections. YSK issued a statement due to the reactions and said that ''newspapers can publish news and comments about elections.''

NEW PUBLIC PROCUREMENT TO BE IMPLEMENTED
The Public Procuremnet Board will finish in mid-November the studies regarding the new public procurement system, which will go into force on January 1, 2003. The new system opens the tenders to everybody and it ends the system of procedure of invitation.

ANAP LEADER YILMAZ CRITICIZES AK PARTY AND CHP
Addressing people in the public meeting held by his party in Kartal, Istanbul, Deputy Prime Minister and the leader of the Motherland Party (ANAP) Mesut Yýlmaz said that the coming of AK Party and the Republican People's Party (CHP) to power won't be good for the interests of Turkey. Yýlmaz said that Turkey is at crossroads, which is a road of freedom, richness, civilization to Europe, calling people not to give opportunity to parties which will take Turkey out of this road.

EXPORTS INCREASE BY 18.7 PERCENT
Customs Undersecretariat said that Turkey exported goods worth of 138 million dollars and imported goods worth of 3,83 billion dollars in September 2002. The exports increased by 18.7 percent and imports increased by 18.9 percent in September this year when compared to the same month last year.

FORMER SISLI MAYOR TO APPEAR IN COURT IN LONDON TODAY
The Higher Court in Britain is expected to discuss today the appeal of former Sisli mayor Gulay Cokay, who is tried in London for two years. Turkey wants extradition of Cokay. Sources said that the case can last long and the sides can resort to legal ways again following the decision to be taken.
