Photograph Exhibition ' Traces From The Past ' Opened In Mugla

MUGLA - The photograph exhibition ''Traces from the Past, Turkey in 1936'' was opened in western province of Mugla within the framework of 79th anniversary of foundation of the Republic of Turkey.
The exhibition includes 150 photographs collected from archive of Simay Bodur.
These photographs were elected from the album ''Republic of Turkey from the Eye of a European'' which were taken by Otmer Feris, an Austrian photographer who came to Turkey upon invitation of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern and secular Republic of Turkey.
The album was prepared in 1936 upon instructions of Ataturk in order to introduce new Turkey to Europe.
Deputy Governor Semsettin Ulusoy of Mugla said that the exhibition would enlight history of the Republic.
The exhibition will remain open till October.
