ANKARA - True Path Party (DYP) leader Tansu Ciller said on Tuesday, ''Turkey should be given a more hopeful progress report on October 24 prior to the European Union's (EU) summit in Copenhagen in December.''
Responding questions of journalists after partaking in a dinner hosted by Christian Hoppe, the Ambassador of Denmark to Turkey, Ciller said, ''during the dinner, I stressed that Turkey should be given a more hopeful progress report on October 24 prior to the EU's summit in Copenhagen in December. We underlined importance of such a report for Turkey, and said that Turkish people expected such a development.''
''If it does not happen, we will get better results on December 12 with a more powerful government. No one should lose hopes. This process will continue. And everyone should realize the fact that Turkey will get this result sooner or later,'' she added.
