ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Sukru Sina Gurel denied on Tuesday the news stories published in certain newspapers telling that he would become the leader of the Democratic Left Party (DSP) after Bulent Ecevit.
Issuing a written statement on the issue, press consultancy of Minister Gurel said that ''Foreign Minister Gurel didn't issue any statement telling that he would become the leader of the party after Ecevit. The rules of DSP, which is a democratic leftist party for election of its party leader are written and known. We would like to stress that such news published in certain newspapers are imaginary and constitutes the chain of initiatives to wear persons out.''
