ADANA - Labor Party (IP) candidates from southern province of Adana for general elections on November 3 made a press statement in front of the Incirlik Airbase.
Bayram Yurtcicek who made the press statement on behalf of IP candidates near the entrance gate of the 10th Tanker Base Command in Incirlik claimed that the United States had decided on an operation against Iraq and had already de facto started it.
Noting that developments in northern part of Iraq proved the aim of the United States with the operation, Yurtcicek said, ''the United States is dividing Iraq and founding a puppet state in the northern part of Iraq. This puppet state will be a trouble for the Middle East.''
''Turkey can't remain silent to these developments. This puppet state should be dissolved,'' he said.
Stating that use of the Incirlik Airbase by the United States should be prevented and Iraq's territorial integrity should be protected, Yurtcicek said, ''the U.S. bases in Turkey should be seized and talks with neighboring countries should immediately start against this puppet state.''
