Unlu: Dehap Can Join The Elections

ANKARA - Higher Election Board (YSK) Deputy Chairman Ahmet Hamdi Unlu said on Tuesday, ''we have decided that Democratic People's Party (DEHAP) can join the elections on November 3, 2002.''
Addressing journalists, Unlu said, ''during today's meeting, we discussed the report sent to the YSK by the Supreme Court of Appeals Chief Prosecutor's Office about the DEHAP. At the end of our assessment, we have decided unanimously that the DEHAP can join the general elections. Later, we will announce the reasoned verdict.''
When asked whether or not any objection could be raised against the YSK's decision, Unlu said, ''YSK's decisions are certain. There is not any way to raise objections against these decisions.''
After YSK's decision about DEHAP, a total of 18 political parties will join the general elections on November 3.
