Izgi: If Government Requests Extraordinary Meeting Of Parliament After Nsc Meeting, We Will Think On It

KULU - Parliament Speaker Omer Izgi said on Monday that, ''if government requests extraordinary meeting of Parliament after National Security Council (NSC) meeting, we will think on it.''
Izgi responded to the questions of reporters in Central Anatolian Konya Province.
Stressing that meeting of NSC this month was a regular one, Izgi said, ''there is no meaning in thinking that there is a war situation. If the government requests an extraordinary meeting of the Parliament after NSC meeting, we will think on it.''
Responding to a question about terrorist attack in Indonesia, Izgi said, ''it has been once again seen that terrorism, which Turkey fought for years, is a very dangerous concept.''
Izgi said Turkey tried to convey the dimensions of terrorism in the world, stressing that, ''the world has seen the facts with September 11 attacks and Bali incidents. They now understood that Turkey is very different.''
Asked what would happen if Higher Election Board (YSK) prevented Democratic People's Party (DEHAP) from joining the elections, Izgi said, ''YSK examines the application of DEHAP in accordance with its own procedures. If false information is presented to the board without fulfillment of principles of the Political Parties Law, then it can make a negative decision.''
Izgi noted that there were nothing to be done in case the board made a negative decision because the ballots had already been sent of the centers in provinces and towns.
''The only thing that can be done is to cancel DEHAP from the ballots. There will not be any need to print ballots,'' Izgi added.
