Musharraf: We Are Beside T.R.N.C.

ISTANBUL - President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan said that they were beside the Turkish Cypriot people.
Speaking at the Seventh Summit Meeting of Heads of State of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Countries, President Musharraf said that the summit meeting took place in a historical point of history of civilization.
Describing the attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001, was the symbol of terrorism threatening societies, President Musharraf condemned all kinds of terrorism.
Referring to escalating tension between Pakistan and India, President Musharraf said, ''unfortunately, our eastern neighbor India has been trying to prevent people's struggle for independence in Kashmir on the pretext of terrorism. A security force of 700 thousand soldiers killed 80 thousand men, women and children in the last decade. Indian occupation has been continuing against the desire of people in Kashmir. India has been trying to hide its activities from the international community. It deployed 1 million soldiers in the border region and said that it was nothing but defense.''
President Musharraf noted, ''we will not start a war against India. However, if they wage a war against us, we will defend our country with determination.''
President Musharraf condemned the acts of violence in Upper Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
He added, ''we support Azerbaijani people. Also, we are beside the Turkish Cypriot people. We support their efforts to protect their rights.''
