ISTANBUL - President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan came to Turkey on Sunday to attend the Seventh Summit Meeting of Heads of State and Government of Member Countries to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Addressing journalists at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport after his arrival, President Karzai expressed his pleasure with being in Turkey, and described Turkey as a friendly country.
Stressing that the summit meeting would make an important contribution to further improvement of relations among the regional countries, President Karzai said that the summit meeting would also have a positive impacts on the rebuilding process of Afghanistan.
Responding a question, President Karzai said that they were satisfied with Turkey's commanding the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan, and added that Turkish soldiers had done many beneficial things.
