CILLER PROMISES 225 BILLION USD WORTH OF RESOURCES IN FIVE YEARS
True Path Party (DYP) leader Tansu Ciller has said that her government would create a total of 225 bilion USD recources in five years if her party comes to power. She indicated that she would do so by implementing a number of policies such as paid military service or sales of banks. Ciller said export and tourism were important sources for Turkey adding that the country needs a healthy foreign currency policy and rightful competition.

SCHRODER EXPRESSES GREAT SUPPORT FOR CHP
German Prime Minister Gerhanrd Schroder expressed great support for the Republican People's Party (CHP) before the elections. ''We believe that a socialist democratic government can bring a solution to the problems between Turkey and the EU. We're hoping the CHP to be victorious on Nov. 3.
Schultz and his party SPD's European Parliament deputy Ozan Ceyhan had a meeting with CHP leader Deniz Baykal and Kemal Dervis on Friday. Schultz also expressed gratitude for the Turks living in Germany for their support to his party in the recent elections.

BARZANI AND TALABANI GO TOO FAR
Talabani and Barzani who showed Kirkuk as the capital in the ''Kurdistan Constitution'' draft, also sent a letter of friendship to the terrorist organization PKK. There are certain developments in Northern Iraq recently which are not approved by Turkey. The constitution draft prepared by KDP and PUK leaders Barzani and Talabani says that the Iraqi state will be turned into a bi-zonal federative structure namely ''Arabic region,'' and the ''Iraqi Kurdistan Region''. According to the draft constitution, ''the Kurdish language will be accepted as the official language, and the people will elect the Kurdish head of state. It will have a seperate flag and Kirkuk will be the capital of it.''

PICTURE OF POVERTY
The number of persons who go to soup kitchens to get food increases significantly in Istanbul. There are both retired persons and students in the queque who take food. The number of persons who get aid and food from the soup kitchen in Zeytinburnu was 400 before the economic crisis and it increased to 2,500 after the economic crisis. The number of persons who come to the soup kitchen increased to 7,500 in Gaziosmanpasa district of Istanbul.

TURKER:''TWO MILLION REFUGEES CAN HURT OUR ECONOMY''
State Minister Masum Turker has said that floating currency rate would protect the Turkish economy during a possible Iraqi operation but added that two million refugees could cause serious problems in the economy.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Turker said the Turkish economy would not be seriously affected by a possible operation against Iraq. ''Only nonperishable food prices might increase since some people might like to store them but the main roblem is the refugees, oil and interest rates,'' he said.

PEARSON PROMISES TO FINANCIALLY HELP TURKEY IN CASE OF WAR
U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Robert Pearson has said that his country would financially help Turkey in case of a possible war with Iraq. Speaking at the Spanish National Day on Friday, Pearson said that his government would continue their financial support to Turkey if the United States starts a war with Iraq. Commenting on the elections, the U.S. ambassador said they would support a government that would help Turkey to reach its goals of EU membership, economic and democratic reforms.

NO CONCESSIONS ON CYPRUS
Foreign Minister Sukru Sina Gurel has said that Turkey would never make any concessions on Cyprus to get a date from the EU to start negotiations. ''The EU will deepen the dividedness in Cyprus if it continues to act like this,'' Gurel said at a meeting called ''The Cyprus Conflict and its EU dimension''. ''The priority in Cyprus is to reach an agreement that would satisfy both sides, this is our target, not the EU membership,'' he said.

YILMAZ:''TURKEY WOULD NOT BE A BURDEN ON THE EU''
Deputy Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz has said that although they were not surprised by the EU Commission's Progress Report, they found the report unsatisfactory. EU Turkey Representative Hansjorg Kretschmer said that some renunciation of sovereignty was necessary to become a EU member and added that at the moment Turkey was not ready to do that.

POLITICIANS SHOULD GO TO EUROPE
EU officials say that ''the decision to give full membership to Turkey depends on elections to be held in Turkey.'' Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the leader of AK Party can defute the claims saying that ''EU does not want Erdogan to be the leader of the ruling party in Turkey.'' The Republican People's Party (CHP) can use the Socialist International to lobby for Turkey's EU membership. The paper says that all political leaders should intensify their efforts for Turkey to join the EU.

BRSA SAYS IT IS AUTONOMOUS
Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) didn't accept the demand of the Prime Ministry Inspection Council which requested BRSA to examine the decision given about Pamukbank as Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit wanted it. BRSA said that ''we are an autonomous organization and the prime ministry order does not bind us.''

RESENTFUL DEPUTIES GO TOO FAR
The ''resentful'' deputies who were not successful to postpone the early elections, started their activities again. The deputies applied to the Constitutional Court this time requesting the Court to cancel the decision of the parliament on parliament recess.

KUTAN:WE WON'T PERMIT WAR
Addressing to people in eastern province of Van together with Necmettin Erbakan, the leader of the banned Welfare Party (RP), Felicity Party (SP) leader Recai Kutan said that ''no country can attack Muslim neighbouring countries via Turkey if we are in power in Turkey.''

''IF FP WAS NOT CLOSED, AK PARTY WOULD NOT BE FOUNDED''
Felicity Party (SP) leader Recai Kutan said that ''if the Virtue Party (FP) was not closed by the Constitutional Court, AK Party would not be founded today. Our friends would not leave and found another party.'' Kutan asserted that SP regards AK Party as a rival now, adding that they will compete with AK Party more than with the Republican People's Party (CHP) as both parties (SP and AK Party) want to get the votes of the same groups of people in Turkey.
