ISTANBUL - German charter airplane Airbus - A321 owned by Aero Lloyd company had to make an emergency landing at Istanbul's Ataturk Airprt on early Saturday morning after a failure in its landing gear.
Aero Lloyd station director Berkay Akgun said that the airplane landed at the airport at 3.50 a.m. with its 113 passengers who went on board in Frankfurt.
The landing gears started showing signs of failure right before the landing and therefore a number of security measures were taken at the airport. The tires of the airplane opened up despite the failure sign. Akgun said that two of the back tires went flat during landing and a part that went loose damaged left landing lid.
Noone was injured during the landing and a technical team was sent from Germany to Istanbul for repair.
