NEW YORK - President Rauf Denktas of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) who has undergone a heart surgery in New York, the United States, will be discharged from the hospital on Saturday.
President Denktas will continue to rest at the hotel for a week.
Meanwhile, President Denktas will not make a statement about the Progress Report which was approved by the European Union (EU) for the Greek Cypriot side.
In the report, the Greek Cypriot side has been given the opportunity of becoming a full member in 2004.
TRNC Presidential Undersecretary Ergun Olgun told the A.A correspondent, ''the most important thing is President Denktas' health at this point. Therefore, we do not discuss political issues with him.''
Olgun said that TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs would make a statement about the issue.
