Turker: War Risk Will Increase Our Costs

ISTANBUL - State Minister Masum Turker said on Thursday that war risk would increase Turkey's costs.
Responding to questions of reporters, Turker noted that Turkey did not want any war in its region and the world in principle.
Turker said, ''but, in case of a probable war, Turkey will be affected by refuge of more than 2 million people in its territories and magnitude of social and economic problems caused by these refugees.''
''There is no more uncertainty in political risk currently. We are going towards an election. Interests have to fall rapidly, but they do not fall. War risk will increase our costs. Turkey will face significant losses in tourism revenues, production and many other issues,'' Turker stated.
Turker said that the United States was not talking with anybody about this issue till the last day.
Everybody wanted him to talk with U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Turker pointed out.
Turker said that he did not talk with the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and added, ''this issue is not a matter to be discussed by Treasury ministers. These issues are concerning people related with foreign affairs.''
