ANKARA - International Monetary Fund (IMF) Turkey Desk Chief Juha Kahkonen will proceed to Ankara from Istanbul to hold a series of contacts within the framework of the fourth review.
Meanwhile, IMF experts have been continuing to hold contacts in Ankara.
IMF experts divided into groups to hold contacts at the Treasury, the Central Bank, the State Planning Organization (DPT), and the Banking Regulation Supervision Agency (BRSA).
Their contacts focused on macroeconomic targets for the year 2002, budget figures, tourism and foreign trade figures, balance of payments, and budget for the year 2003.
The fourth review meetings will last for about two weeks.
Following the fourth review, IMF Board is expected to release the last tranche of loan worth of 1.6 billion U.S. dollars.
