I.M.F. Representatives Start Contacts In Ankara

ANKARA - IMF experts who have come to Ankara before the fourth review, started their contacts in Ankara on Tuesday.
IMF experts will hold a series of contacts before IMF Turkey Desk Chief Juhan Kahkonen's visit to Turkey. Kahkoken will come to Istanbul on Wednesday and start his meetings with Turkish officials on Thursday.
After meeting with a group of academicians, Kahkonen will visit the Foreign Capital Association, the Turkey Banks Association, Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) and the Turkish Exporters' Board (TIM).
The IMF delegation headed by Kahkonen will start their contacts in Ankara on Friday and meet with State Minister in charge of Economy Masum Turker and Treasury Undersecretary Faik Oztrak.
IMF experts will continue the negotiations started within the scope of IMF-World Bank meetings held in Washington D.C. during their contacts in Istanbul and Ankara.
The views of the real sector, financial sector and private sector about the economy wil be mainly taken up in the meetings in Istanbul. The delegation will primarily discuss the method of having a non-interest surplus rate which will be equal to 6.5 percent of the gross domestic national product in the meetings in Ankara.
The things done in the last three reviews and the things that will be done to ensure macro economic targets of inflation and economic growth are expected to be taken up in the meetings.
After the fourth review which is expected to last for two weeks, IMF will release the last tranche of 1.6 billion dollars.
