LEFKOSA - President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said on Sunday that there would be pressure during the talks that would take place in New York on October 3-4.
Denktas said the Greek Cypriot side was extremely relaxed under the name of ''Cyprus government''.
Pointing out that everything that was made by the Greek Cypriots under the title of false Cyprus government was considered as opening, Denktas said there was nothing in fact as opening.
Denktas said Greek Cypriots tried to keep their authority to demolish Turkish Cypriots with the new formation that would be set up by not considering Turkish Cypriots as equal and sovereign in the new formation. Denktas said Greek Cypriots clearly stated this by saying, ''there is occupation and I will remove this occupation.''
Denktas said there was no remedy but national resistance under those conditions, stressing that they tried to convey the problems with good will.
Denktas will go to Istanbul on Sunday evening from where he would proceed to New York to hold talks.
