ANKARA - First natural gas, which will be transported to Turkey through a pipeline that will be installed under Black Sea from Russia to Turkey, is expected to come in December.
Recently, Gazprom executive board approved a plan regarded with delivery of the first gas in December.
Within the scope of the Blue Stream project, a 501-km long natural gas pipeline was installed between Samsun and Ankara.
The 1200 km pipeline is expected to cost 3.4 billion U.S. dollars. A total of 2100 meters of the 376 km section of the pipeline will pass under the sea.
Blue Stream project was brought onto the agenda within the framework of the agreement regarding transportation of Russian natural gas to Turkey under the Black Sea. Turkey and Russia had signed an agreement on December 15, 1997 and the agreement took effect on April 4, 1998.
Meanwhile Energy and Natural Resources Minister Zeki Cakan said necessary amount of natural gas would be taken.
