YILMAZ: COULD I DEFY GENDARMERIE AND PROSECUTOR IF I HAD SOMETHING
TO BE OFFENDED IN WHITE ENERGY OPERATION?
Motherland Party (ANAP) leader Mesut Yilmaz said that Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and Republican People's Party (CHP) could not make a giant leap forward from now on. Yilmaz said, ''if we are able to win the votes of the indecisive, we will gain almost 20 percent of votes in Turkey.''

WILL KAPLAN BE A NEIGHBOUR OF OCALAN?
A new room of 25 square metres, the walls of which is covered with sponge and which is observed by cameras 24 hours a day, has been built beside the room where Abdullah Ocalan, the head of the terrorist organization, is kept in Imrali island. A high-level security official said that Metin Kaplan, the head of the illegal organization Islamic Association and Communities Union detained in Germany and about which Germany has taken a decision to extradite to Turkey, will be the new guest of this room.

450 MILLION USD TO AKBANK
Akbank provided 450 million U.S. dollars of syndicated loan from international markets. The contract on the loan was signed on September 27, 2002 and the maturity of the loan was of one year. The interest of the loan was set as libor +75 percent. A total of 53 banks joined the syndicated loan to be used to finance exportation under the co-leadership of ABN Amro Bank N.V., Alpha Bank A.E., American Express Bank Gmbh, The Bank of New York, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ltd., Citibank N.A., The Commercial Bank of Kuwait SAK, Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft, Deutsche Bank AG, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Gulf Bank K.S.C., Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG, Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank AG, ING Bank N.V., Landesbank Schleswig-Holstein Girozentrale, Natexis Banques Populaires, The Saudi National Commercial Bank, Standart Chartered Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, UFJ Bank Limited, Wachovia Bank (National Association) and West LB AG'nin (London Branch).

NO SCHOOL UNIFORM ON ONE DAY OF WEEK
Here is the cloth reform in schools: Girls can wear trousers and students will not wear uniform on one day of the week. Uniforms, books and note-books will be given freely to those who need. There is no permission to exaggerated clothing, make-up and accessories. This decision will also be valid next year.

''WE MAY RETURN TO DSP''
Yakin of New Turkey Party (YTP), pioneering the ''disgruntled'' deputies, made a shocking proposal to Prime Minister and Democratic Left Party (DSP) leader Bulent Ecevit: ''The majority of the YTP deputies can return to DSP and make it the first party. Husamettin Ozkan is ready to help Ecevit.'' However, Yakin requests something in return for his proposal: ''Let's postpone the elections.''

HERE IS SEVKI YILMAZ OF AK PARTY
Views of Huseyin Besli, a deputy candidate of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) from Istanbul first region, about women will cause problems for AK Party leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to Besli, women-men equality is a discord. So, they should not fall into that trap. Besli is known as 5-10 personalities close to Erdogan. He was the press adviser of Erdogan when Erdogan was the Istanbul mayor.

LET THEM POSTPONE AND THEN WE WILL EVALUATE DEVELOPMENTS
The Democratic Left Party (DSP) is waiting for a move ''to postpone the elections'' on October 1 to present a proposal for ''April government with DSP leader Bulent Ecevit.'' The formula of Gaffar Yakin of New Turkey Party (YTP) that ''a minority government headed by Ecevit should be formed and elections should be postponed'' does not seem like a proposal that can be returned by the DSP immediately. However, the real attitude will become definite after October 1. If the parliament continues to work and postpone the elections on October 1, the government that DSP will take into its agenda will be in the power till normal election date in 2004.

''WE DON'T WANT U.N. DOCUMENT''
The U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan's Special Representative De Soto held a meeting with Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal and high ranking diplomats which lasted for four hours.
Conveying the importance of the initiative launched by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas with a document presented on September 11, Ankara said Secretary General's presenting a document would contradict with the good will mission, and that it would damage to the stage that has been reached.

SUPPORT FROM SPD TO CHP
Ozan Ceyhun, who brought a support message from German Chancellor Schroeder, said, ''our hopes are for the Republican People's Party (CHP). We want to have a festival on November 4 as it happened on September 22.''
Ceyhun said rising of the rightists in Europe was calmed down in Sweden recently, adding that, ''we can not allow rising of rightists also in Turkey.''

DSP BECOMES KEY PARTY
The ''disgruntled'' who got the institutional support of the Felicity Party (SP) and the ''secret'' support of the Motherland Party (ANAP), will be in an effort to keep the Parliament open after October 1. Later, they will try to turn the balance in Constitutional Commission and the General Assembly for their interest. All the accounts were made on Democratic Left Party (DSP).
Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit, who the delay committee try to persuade with the proposal of ''a new government under the chairmanship of DSP'' said it would be a great mistake to give up elections.
Ecevit, who play an important role in the Commission and the General Assembly, said, ''the disgruntled should not rely on us.''

PALACE WARNS AGAIN: EFFORTS ARE NOT RIGHT
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer reiterated that he did not want the elections to be delayed, stressing that he opposed to the new government models. Speaking about the decisions of the Higher Election Board (YSK), Sezer said they were not political but judicial.

EVERYBODY IS BEWILDERED
Since whether or not elections will be held is not definite, everybody has started to wait. Propagandas have stopped while there is no purchase and sale in markets. The initiative of the ''disgruntled'' deputies to postpone the elections has affected propagandas of political parties and candidate deputies. Candidates do not want to spend money on election campaigns by fearing about postponement of elections.

BUSY IRAQ TRAFFIC
Ankara will host two important guests on Monday. When some circles are commenting that a probable U.S. operation on Iraq has approached, Ankara will host Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Elizabeth Jones for European Affairs on Monday and Tuesday.

PRESIDENT SEZER: ELECTIONS SHOULD BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, in a period when scenarios about postponement of the elections are discussed, once more stressed that he was in favour of holding the elections on November 3.

FIRST ELECTION CAMPAIGN OF MHP IS TODAY
The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) will make its first election campaign in central Nevsehir province on Saturday. MHP leader Devlet Bahceli will address people at 1.30 p.m. and ask for votes of the people of Nevsehir.

It was reported that President Ahmet Necdet Sezer felt great sorrow and concern over the situation of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat who is under seige.
Presidential Foreign Affairs Chief Adviser Tacan Ildem said ''President Ahmet Necdet Sezer expressed his profound sorrow and concerns about siege of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's compound.''
Speaking at the weekly press briefing at the Cankaya Presidential Palace, Ildem said, ''President Sezer has been monitoring recent developments in the Middle East. He expressed his profound sorrow and concerns about siege of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's compound.''

IRANIAN GAS TO COME AGAIN ON OCTOBER 1
State run oil pipeline company BOTAS director Gokhan Bildaci said consultations between Turkey and Iran regarding the quality of the gas in Southeastern Anatolia Natural Gas Pipeline installations were positive.
Speaking at the Fifth Eurasia Economy Summit organized by Marmara Group Strategic and Social Researches Foundation, Bildaci said that Eastern Anatolia Natural Gas Pipeline Enterprise was opened between Turkey and Iran.
He said that gas flow was stopped on June 24, 2002 because the quality of gas did not fit the standards of the contract.
Bildaci said that they launched a project for an underground natural gas store in the Salt Lake, and stated that an auction would be opened in 2003.
