Project On Sustainable Tourism In Likya Coasts Initiated

ANTALYA - The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Turkish Society for the Protection of Nature launched a project on sustainable tourism in Likya coasts.
The project was promoted to domestic and foreign journalists at a meeting in southern Antalya province.
The project will be carried out on a coast of almost 200 kilometres long from Antalya to Patara named ''Likya.''
Under the project, threats in the region and initiatives to be launched to protect the coasts will be listed.
WWF Mediterranean Sea and Coast Program Director Paola Guglielmi, speaking at the meeting, said that studies to observe natural beauties of the Mediterranean were launched in 1999.
Guglielmi noted that they aimed to generate long-term projects and work together with local people.
Italian, Croatian, French and Turkish journalists will visit the coast from Antalya to Kas for three days.
