ANKARA - Toprakbank which was transferred to the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF), will merge with Bayindirbank A.S., and its permission to carry out and offer banking services and transactions and accept deposits will be lifted as of September 30, 2002.
Decision of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) to merge Toprakbank with Bayindirbank A.S. was issued in the Official Gazette on Friday.
Toprakbank will merge Bayindirbank A.S. as of September 30, 2002.
Its permission to carry out and offer banking services and transactions and accept deposits will be lifted.
Yesterday, BRSA stated that it had decided to merge Toprakbank with Bayindirbank A.S. after the bid submitted by Global Menkul Degerler A.S. (Global Securities, Avrasya Investment Holding, Sancak Investment, Templeton Strategic Emerging Markets Fund LDC) for Toprakbank A.S. shares was withdrawn.
